Z9264 Unknown 11mm European Combustible Cartridge

Description: Offered here is a nice example of an unidentified paper pistol or revolver cartridge. These are believed to be European in origin, and some collectors have suggested they may represent an early form of needlefire ammunition.

This specimen has not yet been X-rayed to determine whether a sabot or primer is present inside the casing. With an outer diameter of .438", it was likely intended for some type of 11mm pistol or revolver. The cartridge features a round-nose lead bullet with a single exposed grease groove. The two-piece paper case consists of a separate base and body, both well preserved.

Condition is excellent overall, with only light soiling to the paper. A scarce and intriguing example for the advanced cartridge collector.
