Z9254 Scarce 8MM French Gaulois Palm Pistol Cartridge SFM
Description: Scarce cartridge for the French 8mm "Gaulois” palm pistol, manufactured in France around the turn of the 19th to 20th century. The Gaulois was a unique, spring-operated "palm-squeezer” pistol designed for discreet personal defense, with a fixed barrel and an internal magazine that held four cartridges plus one in the chamber, for a total of five rounds.
This cartridge features a full metal jacket bullet seated in a brass case with a small copper primer. Well-preserved and clean, it is very similar to the 8mm round used in the American "Protector” palm pistols, though not interchangeable. With their distinctive design and connection to one of the more unusual pocket pistols of the era, these cartridges have become highly sought after by collectors of both ammunition and early concealed-carry handguns. A great example with a few spots on the case.
