Z9342 .52 Sharps Combustible Commercial Paper Cartridge

Description: Very nice example of a 32-Bore (.52 caliber) Sharps combustible commercial paper cartridge. This style of cartridge was used in the "New Model” Sharps rifles and carbines, including the Models 1859, 1863, and 1865.

The cartridge features a "New Model” style bullet wrapped in a paper tube, with a disc of nitrated greenish-blue paper attached to the rear. These were commercially produced cartridges, sold on the civilian market rather than supplied through military contracts. Because they were manufactured in limited numbers, they represent a scarcer variant of the Sharps combustible cartridge.

This example remains in excellent condition, showing only light soiling from age and handling. A rare and desirable example of a 32-Bore (.52 caliber) Sharps combustible cartridge, and an exceptional specimen for its type.
