Z9345 .44 Long Rimfire Cartridge by Dominion
Description: Nice example of a .44 Long rimfire cartridge manufactured by the Canadian firm, Dominion Cartridge Company. The .44 Long rimfire was used in several mid-19th-century firearms, including the .44 Wesson carbine, .44 Ballard, and .44 Spencer carbines.
This specimen features a flat-nose bullet with two raised belts separated by a single cannelure, seated in a copper case. The headstamp is an impressed "D”, which has been highlighted for visibility.
Overall, a nice example of the Canadian-produced .44 Long rimfire, showing only minor spotting on the copper case consistent with age and handling.
