Z9396 10.4x38R (.41 Swiss) Rimfire Ammunition Packet
Description: Complete and well-preserved packet of 10.4×38R (.41 Swiss) rimfire ammunition — the cartridge used in Swiss Vetterli rifles. This tightly wrapped bundle contains ten 10.4×38R rimfire cartridges. The cartridges are wrapped in a waxed (or coated) paper sheet and tied off at the front, with the original label applied over the top.
The original label is intact and legible with only a few small nips and a few missing pieces. The packet is dated 1942. The dark red crossbar on the label is marked "PC 89,” indicating the use of PC 89 powder — a semi-smokeless propellant first introduced around 1889–1890. Something was written on the reverse in blue ink at some point.
Overall, the packet is in very nice condition and is a desirable example of a late-date (WWII-era) production packet of 10.4×38R (.41 Swiss) rimfire ammunition, suitable for display with Vetterli rifles or as a documented collectors’ piece.
