Z9356 .56-50 Cartridge by U.S.C.Co. - Raised US Headstamp
Description: Scarce example of a .56–50 Spencer rimfire cartridge manufactured by the United States Cartridge Company (U.S.C.Co.). This commercial round was produced for use in surplus M1865 Spencer carbines. Behling dates U.S.C.Co. .56–50 production to roughly 1879–1908 and compared to other makers this manufacturer’s examples are noticeably scarcer.
This specimen features a flat-tipped lead bullet seated in a copper case and secured with a roll crimp. The case is in very nice condition with only a few small spots. Behling lists a board-dummy version of this cartridge. A very nice example of a tough-to-find commercial U.S.C.Co. .56–50 Spencer round.
Headstamp: Raised "US” in a faint depressed circle.
