Z9885 .32 Smith & Wesson Cartridge – Clinton Cartridge Company
Description: Nice example of a .32 Smith & Wesson revolver cartridge manufactured by the Clinton Cartridge Company of Chicago, Illinois. The Clinton Cartridge Company was established around 1904–1905 as a trade brand of Sears, Roebuck & Co. for the marketing of ammunition through their mail-order catalogs and retail outlets.
This cartridge is loaded with a round nose lead bullet seated in a brass case fitted with a copper primer. Cartridges bearing the Clinton name were produced by outside manufacturers under contract for Sears and sold under this house brand.
Condition is very good overall, showing a pleasing, even patina with a few minor spots on the case. A clean and well-preserved example of early Sears-marketed revolver ammunition.
