Z9908 .32 Long Rimfire Functional Dummy Cartridge - UMC
Description: Nice example of a .32 Long Rimfire dummy cartridge manufactured by the Union Metallic Cartridge Company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. This example features a round nose lead bullet with two knurled cannelures and a knife-edge crimp.

The bullet is seated in a nickeled brass case with a factory-drilled hole approximately .205″ forward of the head, a feature used to clearly identify the cartridge as inert for demonstration or training purposes. Dummy cartridges of this type were often used for function testing, display, and sales demonstrations.

Overall, this remains an excellent example of a factory-made functional dummy cartridge, representing an interesting piece of early American ammunition produced by UMC.
