Z9914 Scarce .36 Navy Revolver Cartridge with Red Paper - Published
Description: Excellent condition .36 caliber combustible paper cartridge, intended for use in the Model 1851 Navy revolver. What sets this example apart is the distinctive red, or salmon-colored, paper used in its construction. These cartridges are believed to have been arsenal manufactured, with some collectors attributing their origin to St. Louis. This theory is supported by the existence of other cartridges produced at that arsenal utilizing similarly colored paper.

This exact cartridge is illustrated in the Round Ball to Rimfire series by Dean Thomas and was formerly part of his renowned collection. His collection number, No. 237, is marked on the base of the bullet.

An excellent and scarce example of a Navy revolver cartridge featuring colored paper.
