.50-70-450 Govt. Functional Dummy Cartridge – U.M.C.
Z9931 .50-70-450 Govt. Functional Dummy Cartridge – U.M.C.
Description: Excellent example of a .50-70-450 Government functional dummy cartridge manufactured by the Union Metallic Cartridge Company (U.M.C.) of Bridgeport, Connecticut. These functional dummy cartridges were produced for use in function testing, training, drill, and inspection.
This example features a flat-nose lead bullet roll crimped into a solid head brass case fitted with a brass primer. A single factory-drilled hole is present on one side of the case; when probed, an internal wooden rod insert can be felt, confirming its inert construction. The factory hole is .760" forward of the head.
The case and bullet show a few very minor dings, along with light spotting to the brass consistent with age.
An excellent example of a .50-70 functional dummy cartridge manufactured by U.M.C.
