Z9942 10.4x38R (.41 Swiss) Rimfire Ammunition Packet
Description: A complete and well-preserved packet of 10.4×38R (.41 Swiss) rimfire ammunition, as issued for use in the Swiss Vetterli Rifle of the Swiss Confederation. This tightly wrapped bundle contains ten 10.4×38R Swiss rimfire cartridges.
The original label remains intact and clearly displays the manufacture date of August 21, 1891. The red crossbar is lightly marked "PC 89,” indicating the use of PC 89 powder, a propellant introduced circa 1889–1890.
The packet remains in very good condition for its age. A small hole is present through the center of the label—commonly encountered due to wear from the underlying knot. There is light soiling with a few scattered spots, and one cartridge rim has slightly worn through the paper in a single area. The reverse bears an inked notation reading "ACC 360,” likely an old collection inventory number.
An excellent and highly displayable example of a late-production 10.4mm Swiss rimfire ammunition packet, ideal for pairing with a Vetterli rifle.
