M009 Civil War Era Umbrella Inkwell – Aqua Green with Open Pontil

Description: Nice example of a pre-Civil War to Civil War–era "Umbrella” inkwell. This specimen displays an attractive light aqua-green coloration, distinct from the more typical aqua tones seen in period inkwells. The body is eight-sided with a rolled inward lip, consistent with mid-19th century manufacture.

The base features a well-defined open pontil scar at the center, indicative of early hand-finished production methods. The glass contains numerous small air bubbles, further supporting its period authenticity. Overall, this is an excellent representative example of a Civil War–era umbrella-style inkwell.
