M128 .50-60 Peabody Rimfire Cartridge
Description: Nice example of a commercial .50-60 Peabody cartridge. This flat-nose variation is the commercial version of the .50-60-400 Musket cartridge. These cartridges were used in Peabody-action rifles such as the surplus Model 1866 Canadian Peabody. Early examples were manufactured by C.D. Leet and the Union Metallic Cartridge & Cap Company, followed later by the Union Metallic Cartridge Company.

This example features a lead flat-nose bullet roll-crimped into a copper case over 60 grains of black powder. The bullet is lightly oxidized. The case shows a few spots, along with a single small ding located just below the case mouth. Overall, this is an excellent example of the commercial version of the .50-60 cartridge.
