M147 .22 Short Rimfire REM-UMC Smokeless Cartridges – REM-6
Description: Nice, full, and correct box of .22 Short rimfire cartridges manufactured by Remington-UMC. This particular style of box omits the phrase "SUCCESSORS TO” beneath the Remington-UMC name and was produced approximately between 1922 and 1926. The label retains both the Red Ball trademark and the Remington trademark. One side panel is marked, "Specially Recommended for Remington Repeating Rifles.”

This one-piece box features a goldenrod, red, and white color scheme with black printing. The box retains both end flaps with a thumb cutout on the right-hand side, and there are no markings present on the interior of the end flaps.

The cartridges are loaded with ungreased lead bullets over smokeless powder in copper cases bearing impressed "U” headstamps.

The box itself shows only minimal wear and light soiling. The colors remain strong and vibrant, with only a few minor pushes along the edges of the paperboard. The back of the box is additionally marked "24 R R” in purple ink.

Overall, this is an excellent example of a 1920s-era box of Remington-UMC .22 Short rimfire ammunition specifically marketed for Remington repeating rifles.
