Z8198 Alfred Clayton Percussion Primer Tube 1850
Description: Nice example of a percussion primer tube used as a side-primer ignition. This example is very similar to that of Peter Hawker’s primer. The hook secures the primer on the shelf and the end of the tube rests in a small hole on the side of the breech. There is a small gilted platelet attached to the tube that reads, "Alfred Clayton – Patent – Southampton.”
