Z9398 .56-52 Spencer Rimfire Cartridge
Description: Nice example of an early .56-52 Spencer rimfire cartridge. The .56-52 (also known as No. 52 rimfire) cartridge was introduced in early 1865 and was designed for use in both the Model 1860 Spencer carbine and rifle as well as the Model 1865 carbine.

This example features a flat-tipped bullet with two exposed grease grooves (cannelures). The bullet is roll-crimped into a copper case that is slightly tapered, giving it a very mild bottleneck profile.

A clean and attractive example with a lightly oxidized bullet and a few small spots on the copper case. The case shows two minor dings, noted only for accuracy. Overall, a solid and early representative specimen of this classic Civil War–era commercial rimfire cartridge.

Headstamp: None with two tic marks.
