Z9426 12MM Long Pinfire Cartridge – HB Paris

Description: Nice example of a Civil War–era 12mm pinfire cartridge designed for use in Lefaucheux system carbines. Slightly longer than the standard 12mm pinfire cartridges used in revolvers, this example was manufactured by Houllier & Blanchard of Paris, France.

These cartridges were typically packaged in two-piece green fabric boxes, sold in sets of four ("brick bundles”) for convenient transport and storage. This cartridge features a pointed bullet seated in a copper case with a brass pin. The headstamp is light, and the case shows a few spots consistent with age.

A fine example of a European Civil War–era pinfire cartridge that is known to have been imported for use in the American Civil War., Suitable for a Civil War display or as part of a Lefaucheux carbine collection.
