Z4309 Scarce Confederate Imported and Numbered Enfield Buttplate
Description: Nicely excavated Confederate Enfield buttplate with a verbal provenance of Virginia. These were marked for importing into the Confederate States of America and is marked on the buttplate tang "753*.” These are highly sought after dug examples and this one is now entered into Tim Prince’s catalogue. This buttplate still retains a little dirt and the tang is bent with no cracks. This piece could be straightened if desired.
