Z4324 Indian War Model 1874 Type I Smoothside Canteen with the Scarcer Sky Blue Wool Cover

Description: Here is one of the nicest sky blue model 1874 New York Depot canteens I’ve ever had to offer. This is the standard Civil War M1858 oblate spheroid "smoothside” canteen that was reissued during the Indian War era. The linen sling is attached with no major issues except soiling from age and use. This example has the rarer sky blue cover compared to the more common brown cover. The canteen still retains its original Chambers sling buckle, the M1872 twisted neck ring, and the original stopper. The cover shows very little use and there are no major dents on the main body of the canteen. This would make a great addition to any canteen or Indian War collection.

Measures: 7.5” in diameter
