Z4484 Shepherdstown, Virginia Obsolete Five Cent Note, May 1, 1862

Description: Scarce local obsolete note from Shepherdstown, Virginia and dated May 1, 1862. This one is signed by William Miller Sheetz who is locally known for the manufacturing of firearms. There are two more signatures from the recorder Jno Reed Jr., and J.H. Shepherd, the Mayor. This is the five cent variety with the red "5 CENTS" on the face. The back of the note is blank.
