Z4548 .54 Hunt and Jennings "Rocket Ball” Cartridge
Description: Here is a nice .54 Hunt & Jennings "Rocket Ball” cartridge. This particular cartridge was patented by Walter Hunt on August 10, 1848, and was the predecessor to the Volcanic cartridges. I would say the length of this cartridge is in the medium to long range. This example does not have the patent date on the side.
Measures: D .562" OAL .959"
Reference: Round Ball to Rimfire Vol. 3 No. 1045
