Z4807 Half Gallon Crock by B.C. Millburn
of Alexandria, Virginia (1847-1867)
Description: Nice 1/2 gallon size crock manufactured in Alexandria, Virginia by Benedict Cuthbert Millburn between 1847-1867. This piece has a nice flat sided rim with rounded edges. There is a single tool mark around the softly tapered shoulder. The front of this crock has an even gray appearance with a darker hot spot on the back of the crock. There are no chips on the piece but there is a very tight hairline crack on the bottom goes approximately 4" across the bottom and up the side 1.25". You really need a loupe to track it. If it weren't for the hairline crack, this piece would be in as made condition
Marked: Impressed "B.C. MILLBURN / ALEXA"
Measures: Height 7.5" , Outside Opening Diameter 5" , Base Diameter 5"
