Z5016 One-Piece "Three Rivers Militia" Coat Button / Canadian Token
Description: Very nice non-excavated example with very little gilt remaining. The face of the button has the words "THREE RIVERS" at the top with "Militia" on the bottom. The center of the button features the crown above the script letters "GR." The shank has been ground off on this example. The backmark features a raised wreath surrounded with a solid outer ring. This button has a little wear to the center of the button and along the edges of the letters. Due to a lack of standardized coinage, these buttons had the shanks ground off and were used as currency.
Backmark: Wreath with an outer solid ring
Measures: 23.46 mm
