Z5077 Massachusetts "Special Merit M.V.M." Service Shooting Medal 1913
Description: Nice shooting medal manufactured of bronze. This one has two suspension bars. The first bar reads, "SPECIAL MERIT / M.V.M." The bar under that reads, "SERVICES SHOOTING 1913." The medal itself has a native standing on a lined field with a star over the right shoulder. The words, "Ense Petit Placidam Sub Libertate Quietem" are on the ribbon surrounding the shield which is the motto for Massachusetts. Per Wikipedia it loosely translates to "By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty."
