Z5281 .45-70-500 Trapdoor Springfield Cartridge

Description: Nice 1888 Pattern cartridge measuring .45 caliber, with 70 grains of powder and a 500-grain bullet. These cartridges were made of brass which was then tinned inside and out. This helped reduce the reaction between the powder and brass which lead to a greater shelf life. This example is externally primed and was manufactured at the Frankford Arsenal in 1892.

Headstamp: Impressed "F / 6 / 92"

Measures: OAL 2.815" CL 2.101"
