Z5720 .38 Extra Long Rimfire, U.S.C.Co.
Description: Decent .38 Extra Long rimfire cartridge. This was used in a variety of firearms including Remington, Ballard, Howard, Robinson, etc. This cartridge was introduced in the early 1870’s according to Suydam. Barber has the United States Cartridge Company listed in New York, New York. He states they were in business between 1869 to 1937. Between 1927-1937 the U.S.C.Co. marketed rimfire ammunition by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. This cartridge is in very nice shape with a few waves in the copper from manufacturing.
Headstamp: Raised "US” within an impressed circle
