Z5723 British Royal Navy Purser Button
Description: Decent excavated small size button that is missing the shank. This example appears to be a water recovery. There is still a little bit of gilt on the face and back. The face features two fouled anchors that are crossed in the middle. A lot of sites agree that this style of face started Ca. 1807. The end dates that I have seen range between 1812 and 1825.
Backmark: "????? COLOUR / GILT” dm with a solid outer ring
Measures: 15mm
