Z5767 Spanish American War Era Engineers "ESSAYONS" Coat Button

Description: Decent two-piece Spanish American War era Engineer's coat button manufactured in the U.K. by Charles Pitt. Nayler's reference has Charles Pitt & Co. located at 31 Maddox street in London between 1895-1899. The button has a slightly darker area near the eagles head and "Essayons” ribbon. The back has some oxidation around the edge of the crimp and base of the shank. The large British style stand up shank is intact.

Backmark: "PITT & CO / 31 MADDOX ST LONDON W." dm between two solid rings.

Measures: 23.46 mm
