Z5812 1st (Royal Scots) Regiment of Foot Button
Description: Very nice early style with "THE ROYAL / REGIMENT” flanking the star at the bottom. This is the pewter enlisted man’s version manufactured by Joseph Nutting at 15 King Street, Covent Garden. A very hard example to find in non-excavated condition. The face has a little wear but the words are legible. There is a very small casting flaw on the back around the edge of the rim. An excellent West Indies Era button!
Backmark: "(dot) NUTTING (dot) / LONDON”
Measures: 16 mm
Recovered: Non-Excavated
