Description: Harder to find .44-40 W.C.F. box for the Model 1873 Winchester rifle. The label is legible and there is no headstamp on the cartridge. This is the third style label used by Winchester with a different manufacturer on the bottom. These cartridges were manufactured by the United States Cartridge Company of Lowell, Massachusetts. Interestingly, the side label is also a direct copy of the Winchester label minus the guarantee. The M1873 on the side label has a rear rifle sight and a forward barrel band. This box comes with 20 round and 5 spent casings. There are no split seams on the box and the side label is intact with very small issues.
