Z6025 .577 Enfield Bullet with Boxwood Plug
Description: Very nice, excavated example that still retains the original boxwood plug. There does appear to be a marking in the cavity, but I can’t make it out. More than likely it’s a "57” which would have been made by Eley of London and imported through the blockade. An excellent Civil War bullet!
Measures: D .578” L 1.053” C .428”
Recovered: Charleston, South Carolina
Reference: "Round Ball to Rimfire” Thomas Pg. 225-226
