Z6043 1839 Pattern, US Belt Plate, Marked E. Gaylord
Description: Very nice non-excavated Civil War waist belt plate or buckle. This one is marked "E. Gaylord” for Emerson Gaylord. It has a die-struck face, a lead filled back, and the "puppy paw” style studs are filled with lead solder. This one has a gorgeous patina and the original "as issued” curve! A hard example to upgrade!
Maker Marked: "E. GAYLORD”
Measures: 55 mm x 84 mm
Reference: "American Military Belt Plate” O’Donnell & Campbell Pg. 313 Plate 505 (Circa 1857-1863)
Recovered: Non-Excavated
