Z6048 Frankford Arsenal .50-70 Cartridges, Full & Sealed, 1873

Description: Exquisite full and sealed box of 20 .50-70 Govt. cartridges with the original pull string attached. Boxes in this condition are getting very hard to find. This one is full, sealed, and crisp. There is just the right amount of varnish or lacquer, and the face is fully legible. The top right and left seam have a small tear. You would be hard to upgrade this Indian War Era box! The label reads as follows:

CENTRE-PRIMED, METALLIC

CARTRIDGES,

CALIBRE, .50.

Charge, 70 Grains Musket Powder. Weight of Bullet, 450 Grains.

FRANKFORD ARSENAL. DEC. 1873.

Headstamp: None

Measures: 6.25” x 2.5” x 1.25”
