Z6036 .58 Benet-Primed Cartridge with Three Crimps
Description: Here is one that you don’t see too often. This isn't your typical .58 Benet-primed cartridge for the early conversion muskets. It has a copper case, a lead bullet, and a copper cup. Typically, you will these with two crimps holding the cup in the base of the casing. This example has three crimps spaced .361” apart and .265” up from the base. The crimps have two prongs which is very similar to the crimps used by Goldmark. The head has several machine marks measuring .285” in length. Why these marks were made or added is a mystery. A hard-to-find variant!
