Z6067 V.I.S., Voorhees Industrial School Button, S.C.
Description: Very nice cuff button attributed to The Voorhees Industrial School of Demnark, South Carolina. Per the university website, the original school was established in 1897. It went on to become Voorhees College in 1962, and finally Voorhees University in 2022. This button was manufactured by D. Klein & Bro. of Philadelphia. McGuinn and Bazelon would date the manufacture of this button from the late 1890’s to as late as 1927. The face of the button is heavily gilted and the shank is slightly bent to the side.
