Z6107 Vermont State Seal Cuff Button (Post-Civil War)
Description: Very nice early 1900’s Vermont State Seal button with a subdued front and back. This is a two-piece button with the Vermont State seal in the center. Per McGuinn & Bazelon Jacob Reed was out of business by mid-1877 and reestablished the business as Jacob Reeds & Sons of Philadelphia. Subdued buttons started in the early 1900’s for military uniforms. This example still has plenty of finish and the stand-up shank is intact.
Backmark: "* JACOB REEDS & SONS” dm with a solid inner ring.
