Z6372 .38 Long "Metallic” Rimfire Cartridges by U.S.C.Co.

Description: Very nice, early two-piece box of fifty .38 Long rimfire cartridges. This box is full and correct. The cartridges have an impressed "US” headstamp and were manufactured by the United States Cartridge Company (U.S.C.Co.) of Lowell, Massachusetts. This box dates to the 1880’s and is in decent condition for its age. It has the early call out for "Metallic” cartridges. There is soiling from age and handling with some surface and edge wear. There are no split seams on this example. The top label is legible as well as the side seal with the lower portion of the words missing. A great early box!
