Description: Nice .56-46 Spencer rimfire cartridge with a short-necked case. This example was manufactured by Fitch Van Vechten & Company of New York, New York. This was a partnership between Josiah Fitch and Junius Van Vechten. They manufactured rimfire cartridges between 1864-1865. The case on this example was cleaned years ago. It has a flat nose bullet with three cannelures and a copper casing. The headstamp is an "F.V.V&Co” in a depression.
