Z6404 12Ga. "New Climax” & "Excelsior” Shotshell by U.S.C.Co.

Description: Very nice No. 12 or 12Ga. shotshell. This shell is a "New Climax” shotshell loaded by Selby of San Francisco, California. The Selby Smelting & Lead Company bought N.P.E. shells from other companies and loaded them to their standards. This shell would have been in an Excelsior marked box and is loaded with three drams of powder. This shotshell has a white or tan wad, a black paper case, a brass cup, and a copper primer marked "US.” A nice example with uniform color.

Headstamp: Impressed "No. 12. / US / NEW CLIMAX”

Top Wad: "SELBY / EXCELSIOR / 3” in red print on a buff wad.

Measures: OAL 2.5” RD .872” HD .800”
