Z6545 .40-70 2.5” Sharps Straight Cartridge by Winchester
Description: Nice cartridge known as the .40-70-330 Sharps Straight or or the .40-65 Sharps. This example was manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. All the measurements line up with the .40-70 except for the rim diameter which lines up with the .40-50 Sharps Straight. This cartridge was introduced in 1876. It has a flat nose paper patched bullet and a brass case and primer. Nice clean example with very little spotting and one small nominal surface dent in the casing. See photo No. 2 to the left of the first light line about halfway up the case.
