Z6754 Rare 12Ga. Red Devil Dummy Shotshell (A.A.Co.)
Description: Scarce and minty example of the 12Ga. "Red Devil” shotshell manufactured by the American Ammunition Company of Chicago, Illinois. This is the exact example published in the shotshell book. It’s a factory dummy, unfinished window shell in impeccable condition! A.A.Co. manufactured three different cartridges with early graphics. The Red Devil, American Jack Rabbit, and the White Powder shells are highly sought after due to the graphics. There is one very small stain to the left of the left wing. I’ve photographed the shell in two different ways so you can see the graphics. As far as early shotshells with distinct graphics, it doesn't get any better than this!
Headstamp: Impressed "(dot) RED (dot) / No 12 / (dot) DEVIL (dot)”
Measures: OAL 2.622”
Reference: "Rare & Unusual Shotshells in the United States” Frederickson & Nedza Pg. 2 (Circa 1911+)
Recovered: Ex. Frederickson Collection. Actual shell photographed in book!
