Z6788 Sleeve of .56-50 Spencer Cartridges by S.A.W.
Description: Full sleeve containing seven .56-50 Spencer carbine rimfire cartridges. The sleeve and contents were manufactured by Sage Ammunition Works of Middletown, Connecticut. The cartridges are housed in a pasteboard sleeve that is partially covered in paper. The ends were sealed and then a single piece of paper was wrapped over the top.
Originally the Spencer cartridges were packed in sleeves of seven with six sleeves per box totaling 42 cartridges per box. This would make an excellent display piece sitting next to your Model 1865 Spencer carbine. An excellent Indian War era example!
