Z6983 Officer’s Goodyear Patented Sharpshooter Coat Button

Description: Very nice officer’s pattern sharpshooter coat button with an "I” in the shield. These were used by officers of Berdan’s sharpshooters from 1861-1865. Nice example with a beautiful face. The brass wire loop shank is slightly bent.

Backmark: "N.R.Co. / GOODYEAR’S P=T. 1851” rm

Measures: 19.76 mm

Reference: Albert GI86, Tice SS216A1.
