Z2705 Two-Piece Continental Artillery Officer's Coat Button (Twice Published)
Description: Here is a very nice Continental Artillery Officer's coat button. According to Troiani this is a French imported style made of repousse sheet copper. The back would have originally been a wooden insert with cat gut cords. This example is missing the wooden back which is common on dug examples. This is the exact button pictured in both of Troiani's works on Revolutionary War buttons
