Z7069 .56-50 Spencer Cartridge, Raised SAW Headstamp
Description: Scarce example of the .56-50 Spencer carbine cartridge with the raised "SAW” headstamp. It was manufactured by Sage Ammunition Works of Middletown, Connecticut. They manufactured rimfire cartridges between 1864-1866. These were used in the Model 1865 Spencer carbine. A nice example with three case crimps just above the midsection! There is some writing on the side that could be removed with acetone if desired. A hard-to-find variant!
