Z7057 Sleeve of Seven .56-50 Spencer Cartridges by J. Goldmark
Description: Full sleeve containing seven .56-50 Spencer carbine rimfire cartridges. These were manufactured for the M1865 Spencer carbine by Joseph Goldmark of Brooklyn, New York between January and December of 1866.

This sleeve remains unopened and contains seven original .56-50 rimfire cartridges. Unlike other companies, Goldmark wrapped his sleeves in a buff paper wrapper instead of the traditional pasteboard boxes. Each paper packet contained six sleeves of rimfire cartridges wrapped in buff paper. These cartridges had a high rate of misfires and were condemned by the Ordnance Department. They were ordered to be recalled and destroyed making them scarcer than their counterparts.

Nice buff paper sleeve with wear and holes on the high points. I have not opened this one up, but I have opened these in the past. The bullets are typically oxidized, and the cases are covered in lubricant.
