Z7060 .56-52 Spencer Shot Cartridge Green Paper (H)
Description: Scarce .56-52 shot cartridge with the green paper sabot. These were sold in boxes marked American Metallic Cartridge Company. The case on this example has a raised "H” headstamp for Winchester. The shot is held within a crimped green paper sabot that is coated in wax. The sabot patent was held by Henry W. Mason of South Coventry, Connecticut. He was awarded Patent No. 219,491 dated September 9, 1879. A.M.C.Co. used N.P.E. cases from Winchester, U.M.C., and U.S.C.Co. to load these shot cartridges. A scarcer example in excellent shape!
