Z7169 The First 2.8 x 29.4mm Experimental Gyrojet Rocket
Description: While it may not look like a typical Gyrojet, this is the very first Gyrojet ever made. It was obtained directly from Robert Mainhardt who kept it as a souvenir. This experimental rocket type was manufactured to verify that the Gyrojet concept would work. This example was manufactured with a steel case and a very small two-port aluminum nozzle held in place with a single crimp. The copper fuse is coated with Boron Potassium Nitrate that has begun to crumble over time. There may be a few out there like it but this is the FIRST!

Measures: OAL 29.4mm D 2.8mm
Reference: "An Introduction to MBA Gyrojets and Other Ordnanceā€ Pg. 88 Fig. 7-2 (Exact item pictured in book)
