Z7220 MBA 12MM Gyrojet Rocket with Powder Metal Nozzle
Description: Nice example of the standard 12mm Gyrojet with the patented "powder metal” nozzle. The patent for the powder metal nozzle was awarded to MBA on December 31, 1968, as Patent No. 3,419,230. Its creation stemmed from the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos. The main benefit of the powder metal nozzle was forward thrust. This example has a copper-plated steel case and a four-port powder metal nozzle. The nozzle is held in place with a roll crimp and has a copper primer coated with Humiseal. At one time the side was written on and then removed creating a ghost image outline of numbers. A nice crisp example with a four-port variety.
