Z7342 One-Piece Navy Coat Button (NA75B)
Description: Nice excavated one-piece coat button with a Navy motif on the back. It features an eagle holding a shield with a fouled anchor under the left wing. These are thought to be Navy buttons that were repurposed at a later time. It’s not confirmed but it’s the best theory that I have heard. This example was recovered by Dean Thomas at 2nd Bull Run.
Backmark: Eagle holding a shield with a fouled anchor.
Measures: 18.39mm
Reference: Albert NA75B
Recovered: 2nd Bull Run by Dean Thomas
